Old School Baseball Camps

Old School Baseball Camps will be held in Philadelphia at Thomas Jefferson University-East Fall Campus on Alumni Field- Home of the Rams Baseball Team.

These camps are designed for the serious baseball player. Perfect for travel teams and players that want to take their skills to the next level.

The core qualities of our great "National Pastime", Baseball, both from a player's standpoint as well as from a spectator's view is the appreciation of the skills a player needs and also, the execution of the basic fundamentals of the game.

Hitting, bunting, fielding, baserunning, base stealing, throwing, are some of the individual skills that a player requires in order to be able to perform successfully on any baseball diamond regardless of level. We all have noticed, even at the Major League level fundamentals are not necessarily executed to the standards we expect from a true "Big Leaguer". We at "Old School Baseball" are committed to the teaching the fundamentals of baseball. Our emphasis is not only on how to execute the various techniques, but why and when do you use these different techniques.

As professional teachers and coaches, we are certainly aware of the importance of the approach to teaching a player with consideration for their age, skill level and their personal strength and weaknesses. Our Goal is to foster an environment of fun while learning so that each of our athletes are better players when they leave our camp than when they first arrived.

Old School Baseball Camps will work on the following:

• How to dress like a baseball player
• How to warm up like a baseball player
• How to run on and off the field like baseball player
• Hitting (Mechanics) - Situational Hitting (bunting, Hit and Run) - Approach
• Base running - leads, Secondary leads, Delay Steals, Ball in the dirt reads
• Defense- Fundamentals of each position
• Situations- example: 1st & 3rd and the ball is hit to Right Center (what is the responsibility of each position)
• Games will be played each day

Instructors for Old School Baseball Camps are current and former college players  along with current college coaches, who will teach the Old School Baseball way of playing the game.
